EAL
At Thames Park Secondary School, we are proud of our diverse community and are committed to ensuring that all EAL learners feel supported, valued and celebrated.
Guided by our co-operative values of self-help, self-responsibility, equity, equality, democracy and solidarity, we provide inclusive support that enables students to access the curriculum fully and develop confidence in English.
Our provision includes targeted interventions, in-class support, and strategies to support language development across the curriculum. We also work closely with families, offering guidance and communication where needed to ensure every student feels fully included in school life.
We actively celebrate students’ home languages and cultures. Where appropriate, students are offered the opportunity to achieve a GCSE in their first language, recognising bilingualism as a strength and an important part of their identity.
At Thames Park, every language, culture and learner is respected and empowered to succeed.
